Grim, Grinning Ghosts....
(If you have received this email in error please click "unsubscribe" at the bottom of this email.)
Hi Gang!
I just wanted to say a quick hello and give an update. Thank you to everybody who came out to see our new show “Now and at the Hour” this past Summer. The response was amazing and the word of mouth is what played the biggest part in selling out our last few weeks of shows! That’s all thanks to you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
We have great news! Due do how well the show went over the Summer, “Now and at the Hour” is returning for another 4 weekends! February 12th-March 6th 2010! And, I’m looking to take the show to other major cities next year! (Please cross your fingers for me!)
I’ll be flying out to New York next week Nov 7-10th for a couple of “Secret Shows” with two other strange magician friends. One of those shows EVEN I DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT, that’s how much of a secret it is! But, we also have this one http://observatoryroom.org/2009/10/27/the-secret-show-join-us-now-in-our-great-work/ that’s more open to the public. I’ll be doing 20-30 minutes so, if you have friends in NY please send them on out for a fun evening of magical and strange happenings!
And, this Sunday, I’ll be trying out a new small piece of magic and storytelling at Magic and More-SF Playhouse-Sutter and Powell for more info please go here http://www.comedyonthesquare.com/magic.htm . It’s a short story with close-up magic by one of my favorite magicians from Europe http://surnateum.org/ that I have been adapting for myself over the past couple of months. It’s only a few minutes long but I’ve been very excited about this piece and it has been inspiring other ideas in me.....Boohoohahaha! >=)
And, if you’re in the Bay Area please check out a screening of the indie movie I’m in Fruitfly as part of UC Berkeley Events http://events.berkeley.edu/?event_ID=17334&date=2009-03-20&tab=all_events written and directed by H.P. Mendoza.
Okay one more thing! In the spirit of Halloween and Day of the Dead please see this beautiful and amazing show: Ghosts of the River at Brava Theatre in SF http://www.shadowlightghosts.org/index.html . It’s an hour and fifteen minute show full of ghost stories written by nationally recognized SF playwright Octovio Solis and the best part is IT’S A SHADOW PLAY! A whole show done in shadow puppetry! Actually that’s not the best part. The best part is… my girlfriend is in the show….(hee hee)
If you’ve made it this far in the email I want to thank you with a small Halloween treat. I’ve been playing this song in my car for weeks! I love it so much I wanted to share it with you! Please have a fun and safe Halloween. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNIPf82BJ54
Best to you and yours,
Christian

Hello new Friends!
Christian Cagigal here your friendly neigborhood creepy magician dropping you a line. I wanted to thank you for coming and giving our strange little show a chance. Back from New York, our new and intimate one hour show, Now and at the Hour opens in San Francisco at EXIT Theatre on Friday, June 5th and plays every Friday and Saturday until August 15th. Here’s a rave review from New York! http://nytheatre.com/nytheatre/frigid_rev2009.php?0=S&1=626
This is the most personal show I’ve ever done, a little scary for me in fact and I hope Pandora fans will still appreciate this different show.
